Charlie started performing at eight years old while singing for PRIDE Youth Programs, a drug prevention program whose local chapter was lead by his father. At ten, he was selected to be a singer on the PRIDE National Team, and he was hooked on performing ever since.

He started playing the saxophone and the guitar in 2006. Over the last 15+ years, he has gone on to play in many bands including The Cider Ladies, The New Baseline Jazz Combo, The Crampton Brothers, Wisher, as well as touring with The Vig Arcadia for their 2024 Morphed Tour throughout the Mid-West United States and Canada.

Charlie has been the guitarist and one of the main singers for Serious Jack since 2021. Serious Jack is a Metro Detroit based party band that has been around for over a decade. They perform a variety of rock, pop, funk, and country from the 60’s to the current top 40. A seasoned, polished band, perfect for your next all ages event.

During the start of the pandemic, Charlie started a YouTube channel, where he posts covers and original tunes. In 2023, he founded Mayville Studios, a professional music studio where he records local artists and teaches musicians how to build their own home studios, and record themselves at home.

Charlie was featured in CBS Detroit’s “Heard In Detroit” Instagram series twice in 2021, first for his cover of The Beatle’s, “Blackbird”, and second for his cover of Waylon Jenning’s, “Luckenback Texas”.

Serious Jack was rated one of the top seven wedding bands in Detroit by weddingrule.com in 2022.
